There will be no classes at the Learning Center and no ClassConnects the week of November 23rd. You are still required to complete two days of work in the OLS.
There will be no school (Learning Center, ClassConnects, or OLS) from Wednesday, November 25 through Friday, November 27. Students are only required to log TEN hours of attendance this week.
I will not be answering Kmails or phone calls during this time. I will return any messages on Monday, November 30 in the evening.
What are you thankful for? Post it in the comments section. I'm thankful for all of you! xoxo
Progress Reports will be distributed at the Learning Center during your regularly scheduled Learning Center session during the week of November 16 - 20.
Remember that this is a "Progress Report" and it merely lets you know where you are at halfway through the Semester. If there are grades that you are not satisfied with, you know that you have time to make improvements before report cards come out at the end of the semester. I can help with any suggestions for improvement ... reach out to me if you need help. :)
This year, SY15-16, CVCS will be collecting work samples on a quarterly basis instead of on a monthly basis. This means that you will be submitting FOUR work samples electronically instead of EIGHT work samples.
We will no longer be taking care of the Math and ELA work samples at the Learning Center during your scheduled session. You are responsible for submitting a work sample for Math, GUM, Vocabulary, Composition (Mrs. Riley's 6th graders do not need to submit a sample for Composition), Literature, Science, History, and PE (in the form of a log).
Dates that quarterly work samples will be due:
Please note that you may turn in each quarter's work sample BEFORE the due date. Late work samples will not receive full credit; this includes work samples completed at the Learning Center.
For information on how to submit work samples electronically, click here. Look below for the Quarterly PE Logs.
Hello! This week at the Learning Center, we will finish up Fall NWEA testing. This week we will be taking the Math test.
Remember: The temperature in the building can vary quite a bit from room to room, so be sure to bring a sweater or sweatshirt so that if you get cold, you can have something to put on.
P.S. Want some EXTRA participation points (up to 100) during these first weeks of school?
