Just a reminder that next week is a short week for all of us. Students are only required to complete 5 hours of school work on Monday and on Tuesday, for a total of 10 hours.

As far as CVCS is concerned, students are off on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. However, Learning Coaches may have different plans for those three days, and students are to abide by their Learning Coach's directive.

Welcome back, students!

All students are required to be in Homeroom ClassConnect at 8:00 am tomorrow morning.

"See" you then!

Mrs. C

Looking forward to seeing you then!

Kindly,
Mrs. Claeson

Hi Students!

Please see below for your assigned testing times:

Be sure to arrive in time to be ready to go at 8:00 am/12:00 pm (depending on your assigned testing time). If you arrive late, and testing has already started, you will not be allowed to test at that time.

Get plenty of sleep, eat a good breakfast (like scrambled eggs), and RELAX! You are awesome and you are going to test awesomely! :)

Regarding Learning Center sessions, we do NOT have class on Tuesday, March29th and Tuesday, April 5th. We will resume with our normal schedule on Tuesday, April 12th.

Reach out to Ms. Finley and Mrs. Garratt regarding ClassConnect schedules for the next two weeks.

Please bring a book, magazine, or graphic novel (no Kindles, tablets, etc.), or bring paper to draw on. If you finish early you will need to wait quietly while others finish. You will NOT be able to talk to others or use any devices so please bring something to read to help you stay quiet.

Please leave your cell phone with your Learning Coach or at home. You cannot have phones, calculators, or other devices in the testing room. If you must bring a cell phone into the room, you will need to turn it OFF and give it to one of the teachers in the room. It will be returned to you at the end of the testing session.

HAVING A PHONE RING DURING CLASS CAN POSSIBLY VOID THE TEST FOR ALL OF THE STUDENTS TAKING IT, and will require students to come on an additional day to make up the test. I cannot stress enough how important this is.

Learning Coaches (or whoever will be picking up your student(s)), please understand that students cannot receive your call or text message during the testing session, even if your student is done. All students will need to remain in the testing room until all students have finished testing (either on their own or due to time running out). I promise you that students will be released from the testing session as soon as possible. Make sure arrangements are made to accommodate this schedule for your student.

Also, parents or others picking up students are not allowed to go to the classroom to retrieve the students. Again, this type of disruption could possibly void the test for ALL of the students and require the entire grade to make it up on a different day. Thank you for your assistance with this. :)

Students, get a good night's sleep before each test and be sure to eat a healthy breakfast before you come to the Learning Center. This will help you focus and make sure your brain is functioning at its highest level.

Most importantly, STAY CALM! You are more than a test score. It's nothing to be nervous about. Just try your best and that's all that matters. :)

OLS Coursework

On the days that you are not testing, you are still expected to complete a minimum of 5 hours of OLS coursework each day. Just because we do not have ClassConnects or Learning Center during this time does NOT mean that we do not have school still. You are still expected to complete your minimum hours in the OLS for attendance and to build your progress.

On the days that you are testing, you will need to complete a minimum of 1 hour of OLS coursework either before or after testing to meet your minimum 5 hour attendance requirement for the day.

I hope this answers of all your questions. If not, feel free to reach out to me.

Kindly,
Mrs. Claeson

First semester report cards will be available on Friday, February 19th at the Learning Center beginning after the Awards Assembly. ASP Parents and Learning Coaches, please sign up for a 10-minute conference between 11:00 and 4:00. I will not be able to meet after 4:00 as we will be meeting as a staff at that time.

We're using VolunteerSpot to organize our conference appointments. Please do not book for more than one time slot, as we want to be able to meet with any and all parents that wish to meet. If you need to talk with us for longer than 10 minutes, we can arrange another time to meet with you.
